Our Health & Safety Management System Corporate Bank is designed to help ensure all employees of Yukon Government have the tools they require to stay safe at work.

Emergency Preparedness

The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines to all departments and crown corporations for  developing and implementing the "Emergency Preparedness" element of their health and safety management system.

In all emergency situations, protecting the life and personal safety of employees, clients and visitors takes precedence over protecting property.

The threat to life, personal safety and property is small when all workers are familiar with their role in the evacuation plan and evacuation routes and have the opportunity to practice during non-emergency drills.

The purpose of the "Workplace Emergency Preparedness Plan" (the plan) is to provide processes and procedures that will keep YG employees safe when faced with an emergency situation.

The plan outlines the role each employee needs to take in order to make the plan work, how to evacuate the building, how employees will practice and what employees need to do in the different emergencies that they are likely to face in YG workplaces.
