The purpose of this document is to assist YG departments and crown corporations in ensuring that all elements of their Departmental/Crown Corporation Health and Safety Management System (DHSMS) are “communicated” effectively to all employees.
Effective systems need to be in place to communicate health and safety information to employees.
Employees need to aware of all aspects of their department’s Health and Safety Management System with a focus on those aspects that affect their daily work tasks.
The method of communication that will be most effective, within your department/branch/unit, will be unique to the working unit, the nature of the work, the information that has to be conveyed, the number of employees that are required to receive the information and the complexity of the information.
